Frequently asked questions

Through our blog, 'Living with cancer', we connect with many individuals facing similar journeys. Here, we address the most common questions we receive, offering a glimpse into the daily realities, coping mechanisms, and support systems vital for navigating life with cancer in the UK.

When people read your blog or talk to you about living with cancer, what kinds of questions do they often ask?

They often ask "How do you cope?". My answer is always that I just take one day at a time. I have learnt to slow down, and if I don't feel like doing something, I won't. Sometimes, you truly have to ask for help.

What are the most important things you want people who are living with cancer, or supporting someone who is, to understand or remember?

You are not alone. There are lots of us warriors out here. There's no shame in asking for help, and no shame in not being able to do what you used to. Remember, you will have good days and bad days.

Are there any common worries, myths, or misunderstandings about cancer that you often hear and would like to help clear up for your readers?

There is a lot of information out there, some good, some bad. If you're unsure about anything regarding your cancer journey, always ask your medical team; they can provide the best guidance and support.
